The Master of Science (MSc) Genetics course focuses on the practical application of the detailed knowledge of Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Microbiology to improve healthcare, develop diagnostic tests, and economical therapeutic agents for the wellbeing of animals, plants, and human beings. It includes the theories and concepts related to the application of Genetics in micro molecules, gene therapy, research, transgenics, disease resistance, biomedical devices and sensors, and fermentation. Topics related to cytogenetics, cellular physiology, evolutionary and developmental genetics, recombinant DNA technology, immunogenetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, molecular medicine, and computational biology are covered during the course.
Candidates will have diverse knowledge about the characteristics, features, properties, and applications of genetic information through audio-visuals, seminars, guest lectures, workshops, competitions, presentations, practical sessions, internships, and field visits included in the course.
