The Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Economics is a postgraduate degree course that provides a deep-rooted foundation in the applications of accounts, retail, sales, finance, and tax in the Public, Business, or Industrial sector. The curriculum emphasizes the analysis of the financial market, independent research, application and analysis of complex statistical data, and qualitative and quantitative research methods.
The course includes international exposure with an MS in Applied Economics from Lindner College of Business (University of Cincinnati), the USA in the fourth semester of the second year of the course in two segments – Spring Courses and Summer Courses. Topics like the principles of economic theory, micro- and macroeconomics, comparative economic systems, money and banking systems, international economics and quantitative analytical methods and their applications to specific industries and public policy issues are covered through lectures, talks, workshops, and seminars included in the course. Candidates will be trained to analyze and frame hypotheses, quantify data, and understand Indian and international economics.
Skills like research, leadership, planning and execution, analytical reasoning, decision-making, and entrepreneurship are enhanced through this course.
