Sri Raghavendra Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital was established in the year 1943 by founder president Sri.Raghavendra Swamiji (Tiruka) under the Anathasevashram trust. Sri Raghavendra Swamiji was trained in yoga and physical exercises by Prof. Rajaratna Manik Rai of Baroda and he had a B.P.E.Degree.Considering his yeomen service in the field of Ayurveda medicine Karnataka Government honoured him with the title of “ Abhinava Dhanwantari” for six times.
The College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Department of AYUSH, New Delhi. Swamiji took up ayurveda to treat poor people of rural area who were suffering from various chronic ailments. He was versatile ayurveda pandith and his expertise in Nadis and preparation of herbal medicines is exemplary. He was specialized in the treatment of Respiratory ailments, skin diseases, paralysis and infertility etc. He built a huge hospital complex Dhanvantari sankirna. In 1950. which now Dhanvantari sankirnas Sri Raghavendra Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital and a Pharmacy unit since 2006-07.

Eligibility | Candidates must have passed the 10+2/ PUC/Equivalent Examination (Listed with RGUHS) with English as one of the language and physics,Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects with minimum of 50% of Marks in the aggregate of the Science subjects. Candidates who have passed B.Sc degree examination of any university or any other equivalent exam conducted by statutory universities or board with science subjects namely , chemistry, botany and zoology and have secured atleast 50 % of the aggregate are eligible for admission to first professional B A M S provided the candidate has passed the P U C / H S C examination. The Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December of the year of admission In the case of students belonging to SC/ST & category, first the minimum requirement in percentage of marks for admission to the first B A M S course is relaxed by 10% of marks (applicable only to the Karnataka. state students) Candidate should be qualified in NEET Examination | |
