BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT&M), is a private engineering college in Bangalore affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. It was founded by B S Narayana, son of educationist BM Sreenivasaiah, and is managed by the BMS Educational Trust. The college was established in 2002. It is the sister institution of BMS College of Engineering, a well-established government-aided engineering college in India. BMS Institute of Technology is recognized as a Research Centre by VTU. BMS Institute of Technology is located in an open and sparsely populated and built area, known as Avalahalli.
BMS Institute of Technology and Management Bangalore Initially, started out with six disciplines of engineering – Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Science, and Civil Engineering The college offers a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Science, a Bachelor of Architecture degree, in addition to Bachelor of Engineering degrees in the five mentioned disciplines. BMS Institute of Technology and Management Bangalore was granted the status of a Research Institution by the Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2005.
