Compulsory Rotational Internship for MBBS Students

  • National Medical Commission (NMC) has received many queries related to the internship completion in institutions other than where the students have been enrolled for their MBBS training specially due to the COVID Pandemic.
  • The Under graduate Medical Education Board of the Commission after careful deliberation of the representatives and existing regulatory provisions has finalized that Internship can be completed in the teaching hospital affiliated to the Medical Institutions where the student is enrolled for their MBBS Training.
  • Any issues faced during the current condition, it can be completed at another NMC approved medical college hospital subject to the satisfaction of the College authorities and University concerned where the student has enrolled.
  • Further, if a student is allowed to complete an internship in another approved medical institution, there should be no charges levied for completing the internship as it is a part of MBBS training.
